Summary
This AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER position, is located in the Aircrew Life Support function, Air Operations Division and is part of the CA 129 RQW.
Qualifications
General Experience: Possess experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of materials and equipment used in the line of work (helmets, torso harness assemblies, parachutes, survival equipment); Ability to understand written instructions and use reference materials and manuals. AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER, WG-4818-10: Must have 18 months experience which has demonstrated knowledge of aviation life support equipment; Experience reading and interpreting military manuals; Experience in supply procedures and property accountability; Experience collecting information and presenting it to various sized groups; Experience in planning a functional shop maintenance program. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: Equipment Inspection Inventory Management Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Product Test and Evaluation

CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in the California National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. AREA III= Current military members of the Air Force/Army National Guard, Air Force/Army Reserve or Air Force/Army Active Duty. (Applicants who are currently in other Air/Army branches and NOT currently a member of the California National Guard (CNG) must become a member of a compatible unit of assignment within the Air Force CNG commensurate with the military grade listed in this announcement prior to federal assignment). Military Grades: E-1 through E-5 Recruitment/Relocation Recruitment/Relocation Incentive MAY BE authorized, subject to funding and approval. PCS Relocation Costs IS NOT authorized based on determination that Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move is not in the Government best interest. Must maintain appropriate level of security clearance. May be required to successfully complete a one or two year trial period. Must wear appropriate military uniform including required grooming standards. Must maintain a compatible military unit, grade and job assignment as required by current directives. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. The position requires the incumbent attend water and land survival schools, the Life Support instructor course, and the aircraft accident reporting course. Also the incumbent must be able to obtain materials handling license(s) for equipment utilized in the assignment. Must be certified and remain current in Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA). Security Clearance: at a minimum a National Agency Check is required.
