Universal Instructional Assistant (AFTER SCHOOL CHILD CARE PROGRAM)

Requirements / Qualifications PLEASE NOTE: This recruitment will be used to fill positions for the 2026/2027 school year. Positions are for the after school child care program. Positions for day classes are not available for this classification at this time. Current OVSD classified employees may not hold two permanent job assignments. If you are already a permanent employee for the District and are interested in working more hours you may either submit a transfer request form to the Classified Personnel office or inquire about becoming a substitute in the same or other classifications, in addition to your permanent assignment. We reserve the right to limit the number of candidates to those deemed most qualified for the particular vacancy, based upon application screening and test scores. There will be an application screening for the position to verify that the minimum qualifications (education & experience) have been satisfied. We will email you via www.edjoin.org to advise you if you may participate in the written and/or performance exam. All candidates will be required to provide a photo ID with their signature. If you pass the written and/or performance exam, you may be scheduled to participate in the Oral/Technical Exam. Candidates must pass each portion of the exam in order to proceed in the recruitment and be placed on the eligibility list. The eligibility list for this recruitment will be valid for six months. If you have already taken and passed the Instructional Assistant Competency Exam with one of the following districts, notify a member of the Personnel Commission staff at the time you are invited to the test: • Ocean View School District • Huntington Beach City School District • Fountain Valley School District • Westminster School District • Newport-Mesa Unified School District • Huntington Beach Union High School District Written Exam: OVSD tests on Wednesdays.
