Special Education Behavior Support Instructional Assistant - Level 2

Requirements / Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. An Associate of Arts (AA) degree or higher is preferred. Specialized training in Applied Behavior Analysis or Positive Behavior Intervention Support The District determines whether a candidate is qualified for the position based on related work experience, ability to perform essential functions, reference checks, and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Moderate physical exertion associated with the ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, lift, carry, push, pull or climb. Physical capability for sustained physical work; requires strength and endurance associated with heavy physical effort. Ability to lift 50 lbs maximum or carry an object weighing up to 25 lbs. Support and participate in de-escalating student episodes of dysregulation using approved non-violent crisis intervention techniques.
