PAINTER I

Job Description and Duties The Painter I will be directed by the Painter II and under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of Building Trades in Plant Operations at the Department of State Hospitals - Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to: • Prepares wood, masonry, and metal surfaces for painting. Applies primer coats, undercoats, and finish coats. • Requires lifting, bending, physical agility, ability to work off ladders and scaffolding, lift up to 70 pounds. Repetitious work required (above and below shoulder level). • Maintains inventory and requisitions material necessary to meet the needs of day-to-day operation of the Paint Shop. • Maintains and follows proper tool control procedures.
