Instructional Aide - Kindergarten

Requirements / Qualifications Graduation from High School or equivalent; one (1) year of experience, either paid or volunteer, caring for children in a kindergarten setting within the past five (5) years – or – such alternative the personnel commission may find applicable; must show proof of one of the following: successful completion of 48 semester units (72 quarter units) at a recognized college or university OR attainment of an Associate (or higher) from a recognized college or university OR passing a local assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction (MUSD approved assessment). SPECIAL NOTE: Some positions require fluency in a language other than English. If fluency (written and spoken) in another language is required in an Instructional Aide position, that Aide may be required to perform any or all of the following additional duties: assists teacher to transition students from their native language to English by speaking, reading and writing in their language; translates for the teacher; reinforces the teacher's lesson plan and assists the student to speak, read and write English; translates written materials and information to go home to non-English speaking parents; translates for non-English speaking parents at parent-teacher conferences, or home visits by the teacher, or in phone conversations. • Copy of Transcript (48 semester units (72 quarter units) at a recognized college or university OR attainment of an Associate (or higher) from a recognized college or university) • Resume
