Job Description and Duties

Are you a strategic, people-focused leader who thrives in a dynamic, service-driven environment? The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Supervisor I to guide our Document Management Unit within the Forms and Publications Section. In this critical leadership role, you will help shape how millions of Californians access important tax information—ensuring clarity, accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across the department’s most widely used forms and publications.
Under the general direction of the Supervisor II, the Supervisor I leads the team responsible for the intake, development, production, and management of the CDTFA’s and the Board of Equalization’s (BOE) forms. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic planning with hands-on oversight and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
A strong candidate will bring excellent organizational skills, a talent for leading and developing teams, an eye for detail and design, and a commitment to public service. You should be comfortable managing both people and processes, eager to innovate, and able to translate complex requirements into high-quality materials that support taxpayers across California.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on a leadership role that directly supports the public and shapes how one of California’s most essential resources—tax information—is communicated. You’ll work with a dedicated team, contribute to department-wide innovations, and help drive improvements that strengthen transparency, accessibility, and service delivery statewide.
